for the rear sway bars. I think it depends when your car was made and at what factory. Cuz my sr5 was made in november 1987. I think i was the experimental first version of the sr5! so from 1988 and on they have sway bar if they were made in the factory with other sports car like the gts, mr2, celica etc, and the ones with out where made at the family car factory. I think. Cuz Gm did that with one of there car on another piece of the car. This is just my opinion!

Hi there guys and thank you Prject Trueno for bringing this to my attention!

First of all, what are you guys talking about here. Sway bars and strut tower bars are too totally different thing!

I have a 1990 Toyota Corolla SR5 and it's a 4AFE EFI, I have installed the GTS strut bar on and I had no problems.. That peace circled in red is in my car as weel, all I did was move down and use a self tapping screw to mount it just below the strut bar. Other than that I had no objects in the way and the strut bar fit no problem, except of course I had to lift the car up on a hoist and loosen up all 6 strut mount in the engine bay. And re-drilling the existing holes that were covered with sheet metal by Toyota to avoid corrosion!

From my experience, I've never yet come across any 88-91 SR5 with a factory strut bar? But maybe there is! And my car was made in Japan and not the US.

we know sr5 did not come with strut bars....!!!!!! only the gts does have them stock!

i was just pointing out that my car came with a rear sway bar stock and some of the sr5 in our club in montreal have them and some dont we (adriaan and me ) were wundering if you guys have a rear sway bar ...
and we were trying to understand why???

one of my friends is working at the parts counter at a toyota dealer and says that evry ae92 sr5 and gts should have a rear sway bar ....

as for the strut bar i can not put one on my car cuze i have a carb 4af and the air filter is in te way of the bar.... and on the firewallthere is two things that i must move to put the oem bar therefor me and rolla pat will do a costum one....
