I love Toyotas, but my sister's Corolla was a disappointment when I drove it. The above mentioned cover was missing, the passenger side air vent on the dash is not flush with the dash, the radio doesn't fit nicely into the dash, and the drivers' side rear door's weather seal pops off.
I know Toyota's quality is better than this. I hope her car was just an exception or a single case that got by quality control. My 98 Camry has nearly 90K miles on it and still impresses me for how well it's screwed together, but her Corolla seems to have a new minor problem or glitch each time I see her.
I'm sure her engine and drivetrain will last forever, but I hope the rest of the car can too, and it doesn't look like it will.

The dealer agreed my replacement insert was under warranty.
My only gripe with the '05 is the steering wheel placement.
There should be a telescopic adjustment along with tilt wheel.
It's the wife's car and she not crazy about the wheel position but is used to it..
Other than the foglight insert,no warranty issue in 5000 miles and 5 months.
