Using a floor jack

When lifting front or back or from the side to lift the two wheels off the ground where would you position the floorjack lift end?

under the frame. then put a jack stand under the solid joint of the appropriate A arm(s).

i use the cross-member on the corolla and the rear tranny mount on the mr2...... going from the side with a floor jack bends the tabs in on the side where the factory jack is supposed to go...... can't stand how it does that

I was referring to lifting either the right or left side ... front to back toyotaspeed90 is correct. Tho I'd still put the jack stands at any/all of the four corners for stability's sake.

Which crosmember you talking about?? I'm always afraid to put the jack somewhere else other than the rail because I don't wanna bend or break anything from the weight of the car, but I'm also afraid the floor might go thru or something.

crossmember that goes forward/backward right under the tranny....... it's beefy, it can handle it

The tabs do bend too easy.
