During my quest at the junkyard I found a instrument cluster of a '89 Corolla that has a tach. Now my Corolla does not have a tach so I was wondering if I could swap the clusters yet still maintain my odometer?

no. the plugs might be different and you would need to hook up the tach manually to the negative terminal on the ign. coil.
