05 Corolla S - spring choices

Hey guys -

I want to lower my car and get rid of the HUMONGOUS wheel well gap, but I don't want a bouncy, racecar ride... it's my daily driver. I considered TRD, but the cost and relatively small drop are making me look around.

Anybody REALLY happy with the ride quality of their springs? They must be variable rate I'm sure. So... anyone???

Thanks in advance,
Rich

I tried that, and waded through MANY pages of conversations. But no one specifically discussed lowering springs and retaining good ride quality, so I thought I would ask!

I'm not interesting in tracking this car - just want to make it look better. That SUV wheel gap is ridiculous!!!

PS: TRD has discontinued the 03-05 springs in the Toyota buy-out, so those aren't even an option anymore.

I know Tein's are great. They're nice and low on your year and they maintain a good ride quality.
You'll also want to look into struts. My recommendation would be KYB, Tokicos might be too stiff for what you're looking for.

I would go tein H or S .. S is lower .. H is higher

unfortunately there are no aftermarket struts for the 03 + yet ?

Go with the S Techs from TEIN. I've had mine for over a year and I love them. The ride quality is awesome (not too bouncy, not too stiff) and the drop looks great over the wheels! see for yourself:

I'd say Teins too.. my buddy put them on his 03 Corolla S, what a difference! no more SUV ground clearance!

Anybody familiar with the Hotchkis springs? I used to have a MINI and I heard good things about them in that crowd. I like the fact that they drop the frint a little more than the back - but I don't know anything about the ride quality.

03 up corolla spring swaps

i put trd springs on 04 daily driver.made by eibach. it lowered about 1.25 to maybe 1.5 inches. stock 15" alloys. it looks good. about 2 fingers plus clearance.no big lookin gap. rides good, firmer not harsh and choppy. when need it on corners its works. its more $ sure, but if yu want a better daily driver works good. can use stock struts too. may wear out sooner. i diy from internet-and manual. torque settings involed. the larger the wheels with stock tire diameter the harsher the ride. oldman.
