93-97 maximum wheel size?

Have a 97 dx.. what's the largest wheels I could fit under there with low profile (205 mm or so) tires? I think 18"?

17s max and that would give you a very rough ride.. 18s would be overkill and you'd be looking at a bent rims if you didn't watch the potholes.

does anyone happen to know which offsets would work, or the default offset on the 14" steel wheels?

I think the oem's are +38 and anything from +38 to +42 or +45 will fit.

just to clarify... "205" has nothing to do with the profile of the tire... its the aspect ratio that you want to look at... i.e. "40", "45", "50", "55", etc.

This doesn't address your wheel issue, but if you go to www.tirerack.com , you can find the specs on many tires. This will give you the outside diameter of the tire for comparison to what came on the car, or other Toyota's with the same derivative suspension.

that's probably the lowest you can go right? would you be able to fit 205/45-17s if you wanted or is that impossible?
