tvis problem???

well as i believe from reading stuff all over this site do far...the tvis is supposed to give your car more power in the lower revs...thing is my car has no guts in the lower revs compared to other 4age's so does that mean i could have a problem with the tvis.

I doubt it.. TVIS is just a second set of butterflies in the intake that let more air in AFTER a certain RPM. Its like the VTEC system in a Honda but not really, TVIS opens the butterflies around 4000rpm and more air comes in. You can hear it kick in and feel the car get a bit faster.

If your problem is at low RPM then its something else, you might need a tune up or maybe even a clogged catalytic converter.

tvis kicks in at 4400rpm's there is a small dip in power right here. Check out this dyno, pretty typical of a stock 4ag. http://whyturbothat.com/4agedyno3.html

TVIS does increase torque in lower revs by increasing intake gas velocity and mixing - without it there'd be less guts than now (as noticed by a few people who've ripped it out entirely) but the difference is minimal.
