Who Wants Coil Overs???? AE86 dudes...

Since i've already got my coil overs, i'm willing to use the ones off of voodoo priests car and make em for somebody else.

price is $350 obo for a shortened, welded and finished strut casing. i ain't making fuck all off of these as the gas and electricity for tig welding costs well over $120....i'm just doing it for a little pocket change and to share my enthusiasm!

lemme know.

Re: Who Wants Coil Overs???? AE86 dudes...

So you are able to TIG weld the GroundControl Aluminum threaded adjustment collar onto the cast iron or steel strut housing?

Are these basic procedures to make the coli overs?
1) you cut off and grind down the old spring lower support
2) Cutoff the extra length then weld on the threaded collar
3) Assemble the Coil over and lock the spring support collar.

Although in the ground control application guide it does not say anything
about cutting and grinding the old strut housing.

http://www.ground-control.com/index.html
8025.01 Corolla 74-87 all 0 to 2.5 $ 199/pr
8030.01 Corolla GTS RWD (front only) 84-87 all 0 to 2.5 $ 199/pr

None of these notes in there?

NOTES:
A) some shocks/struts require grinding/machining to fit coil-over hardware
B) removal of stock spring seat and welding required
C) removal of stock spring seat and welding optional for added tire clearance and range of adjustment
D) trimming of stock spring seat allows added range of adjustment
E) removal of stock spring seat required

thanks

because the GC coulovers are aluminum and the casing is steel...you CANNOT weld the two together. you must:
1)grind the perch off
2) cut 40mm out of the center of the casing
3)weld the casing back together (should be 40mm shorter)
4)weld a 1inch 2 1/4 ID inch 10 gauge steel collar to the casing...this will be the new perch fof the threaded collar to sit on.
5) paint

note: you obly shorten the casing if you are going to use short stroke shocks like HTS, TRD or Illuminas

Voodoo: naw...it hasn't left.....i am chinese...i'll always be looking to make a buck!
