stick with the integra.. it's faster! **micro puts flamesuit on!**
i would still keep my integra. the AE86 would be a car i built up on the side. i thought it was faster than the integra. i remember hearing it had about 145 hp at the crank.
if the AE86 is slow stock, how hard is it to get it fast?
The ae86 wasn't meant to be fast. And micro's right...the integ is faster.
To better help your query, how fast is fast to you? Put up some figures.
In the meantime, visit club4ag or better yet, search "Billl Sherwood ae86" in google. He goes step by step on how to get so and so HP figures from the ae86. He touches on engine mods, FI, cams, etc.
Definitely stick with the DC for speed unless you've got DEEEEP pockets. If you must have a 'drift' car, get a S13 or S14. They're newer cars, and as such, are usually in a lot better shape.
It's hard for me to give a recommendation because I'm pretty biased. I haven't driven too many RWD cars and only owned one. It was an '81 RX7. It was like the funnest car I ever owned, 20k miles on the rebuilt engine, sold it because I didn't need it anymore because I commute now, but it's something you should look into if you're interested in that sort of thing. It was a GREAT drift car.
There's a ton of good RWD cars out there, the AE86 is one of them, but the price tag on them after Initial D is so ridiculous I don't even want to touch one.
Be careful on the road though. If you aren't a cartoon character named Takumi, you're going to be in for some hard times on the road. Try to make it to drift tracks, you might end up in a few close calls when you get started, just take it slow and be careful my man.
It all depends on exactly what you want to do with it. Not only that, but you can never drift with a integra. Hondas are nice, but everybody has one, to the point that it is now boring to even see one on the street. You don't see many nice modded AE86's out there. As far as mods for its 4age, there is a ton of aftermarket parts. This is a car you will be respected in anywhere you go. It's lighter than the integra and RWD.. what more do you need? Engine swap options are plenty. Black/Silver top 20v or a Supercharged 4AG. It may be a 1.6 but it has tremendous potential. But then again, it's all about how much money one has... But no money can buy a drifting integra!
Haha, sorry bro, but they have already made a RWD Integra. Complete RWD conversion, some of the guys here have seen the video, it's a white on on a race track doing a donut and drifting around the track. If it's about money, you can do a RWD conversion to any car.
