questions about my new manifold

my new manifold came in today for my 92 corolla and when it came i noticed it had a spot above the collector for an O2 sensor but it was blocked off with a plate. now i was figuring that this was probably some kind of CA emissions that would have utilized multiple O2's. now on my corolla the O2 is in the flex pipe, would it be of any benefit to change the position of the O2 sensor and put it in the manifold and block off the flex pipe?
