the car looks ok in this limited picture. definately $1500(Cdn) is not too much, and Toyota's do seem to last forever. Although sometimes when things go wrong it could cost U major $$$. I guess it depends on your abilities. $1500 is a great deal for me, excellent. But let me tell you, if it has for example got totally duff brakes/or anything else(I won't even mention 4AGE engine problems){good quality 4AGE engine total rebuild=5k/or more} it will cost you huge if you cannot do work yourself. A total brake job(4Wd disc) could be upwards of 2 grand at a decent shop, no shit. it's best if you are not sure, to leave it to somebody like me who picks it up fairly cheap, fixes it with genuine Toyota parts, then asks $3000++ for it cause it works & gas is $1 a litre. Go for it. I just paid $2000 for an 89 SR5 and it's rebuilt but it works/looks great and has only 170km on it.
ya when it comes to the brakes I can do that all my self, and even doin an engine swop if worse came to worse i got friends who know how to do that so really for me I only need to pay the cost of the product not labour...so would you recommend me going in for this product as soon as i see this car im gonna take some pictures of it!
Did you buy this car?? I have an 89 GTS and I'm already at 344,000km on it.. the car still runs good but it needs a few things that I have "neglected" to change. If the car has been well maintained, then you should be OK. I would offer him a bit less due to the mileage though. offer him $1000 and go from there.
Cam (1owner) used to have an 88 GTS with over 360,000km on it, but if you saw his car compared to everyone else's car at the Toronto meets, you couldn't tell it had that many kms. His car practically looked brand new! too bad it got smashed up.
here's a trick I learned while browsing endlessly on trader.ca right click on the picture and go to properties, copy the url for the pic and then paste it on your address bar on the browser then replace the "regular" part of the name with "large" and press enter or GO button to view the larger pic. All cars are pictured with both sizes on trader.ca but if you only pay for the small pic add, you only get a small pic for your add on the web.. but you still have the large pic available on their site.
OK Then, let us know how you make out with this purchase, it does look good in the pic. But who knows, you could be getting in to anything. Best to leave it. Leave it to me. Maybe look at the dealers, I recently saw a very original excellent condition 1990 SR5 with 102,000 km on it at a dealership in Manitoba for only $7995. No Shit. Buy it already...or pass the phone number on to me.
