Hello I am new to the forums and I have some problems with my Corolla Transmission.

The Transaxle is the A131L Three Speed Automatic

The problems are that it does not engage into 3rd Gear, and it does not move in Reverse. The engagement into Reverse is felt, but the car does not move. When in Reverse the car has the feel of being in Neutral.

Any helpful input would be appreciated.

I am having a similar problem with my 1990 Corolla LE. When I shift into reverse it starts to move and then locks up. As I press on the gas with the trans in reverse the engine trys to bog down and stall. When I put the car in park the engine bogs and trys to stall also, the engine should rev up in park like it does in nutural. Are you having these same symptoms? If I get any information on what is going on I will pass it on to you, please do the same for me. Thanks!
