I've got a very clean and well maintained '89 GT-S. My wife has been bugging me to sell, but I would rather commit hairy-cairy on myself than sell my baby. When I told my 8-year old daughter about selling, she cried! She's more like her old man than I give her credit for!
Good ones are hard to find. People tend to hold onto them. They (the Corolla Sports, SR5 & GT-S) were produced solely at a low production plant in Japan. When the Corolla Sports bowed out at the end of the '91 production, the Pasao was deemed a replacement (lower cost). Having actually sat in the back of a Paseao and used the brakes the way I occasionally would

I can say that the Corolla GT-S was worth the money. (O.K. flame me; that's where modifiers with insight come in).
BTW, the 10.5:1 compression '90 & '91 models which are rated at 130 net h.p. are not really noticably more powerful when you consider toque and seat of the pants feel. The TVIS system kept torque up at lower rpms due to higher intake velocity (if you call 100 lbs./ft. @ 4800 rpms torque) and was discontinued for '90 with the advent of higher compression (all good) and the advanced knock sensor (scarcely a replacement for the TVIS). O.K. so I'm biased. You've got good taste!
