damn you 2005 Corolla XRS!!!!

Fuck it!!! I'm so mad. I have a 2005 XRS with maybe 4000 miles on it. I had it on Sat for an oil change and to check out a hard starting problem. When it sits in the sun it has to turn over 3-FIVE times to start!!! Fuck!
They didn't find anything. The thing is I have 2-way LCD pager alarm + remote start, which COULD be the culprit, Buuuuut it only does this in the suN!! It starts FIIIINE in the shade but in the sun it feels like I'm driving a fucking tired 81 Oldmobile!! IT WONT TURN OVER!!!!
Why would it do this? You could say LCD remote start but it only happens in the suN!

Are all the connections tight?.

I had a car that would not start in the sun, My problem was in the steering column a wire would be affected by the heat and loose contact.

Maybe one of the connections in your alarm or remote start could be affecting the vehicle, if it's not properly connected in the wiring system the heat expansion could cause the no start.

Did a shop install the remote start? also did you get a wiring diagram for the installation?
If the shop installed the remote start take it back to them they should be the ones to fix this up for you.

hope this helps,

There is a warm start problem with 05 Corollas, but I haven't heard much about this problem in the XRS. Possibly because there aren't that many XRS's around or for whatever other reason. You may be able to look into it. For the other model Corollas, there are TSB's floating around to fix the problem.

I had an '04 SenCrap that had to be brought in 3 times for that exact problem, but the dumbasses could never find anything wrong with it. Good riddance, SenCrap, hello, Solara (God I love saying that).

I always heard that its better for the engine to crank over a few times before starting opposed to starting almost instantly

Well, it seems to me that it might wear out the starter to do so, for starters (no pun intended), but it's just a pain in the ass in general to have to crank your engine 4 times... That's why I love my Solara; sometimes if it's the right temperature, sometimes you'll only need to crank it for less than 1/2 of a second.

If they made a horror flick with a 2004+ Sentra being used to escape from a serial killer, I'd laugh my friggin' ass off!
