Solenoid

My girlfriend has a 92 Corolla and it seems to have starting problems. I think it's probably the solenoid in the starter. I know the simplest way to fix the problem is to just replace the starter but it'll cost roughly 100 bucks for the parts and although that isn't a whole lot of money, it kinda is. Would it be easier to replace the solenoid if that is even possible?

Try this website it gives you the basic information you will need. Just remove the starter and go from there. Like it says call the dealer or go to a local electrical auto parts store and they should be able to hook you up. I will tell you from experience that the dealers do not always keep these on hand. They may have to order them. IT is much more profitable to replace starters than contacts.

I had the same problem with my 92 Corolla. Its easy to change the contacts. I got my contacts from http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/Starter.shtml. He was local so it just cost me $10 for a set.
