New here, have a few questions

Hi, ive been lookin at the Hachi Rokus for awhile and just have a few Qs.

1. I found a Corolla SR5, but with HB body. Does it have enough power for daily driving for awhile? maybe until i have enough for a swap..

2. The one i found was selling for $1,495 US, do you think its a good price?

this is the picture he sent me, it looks great! i would like to go check it out with my dad soon.

btw. im 17 and working on weekends, so i wont have enough for swap right away. thats why im asking if you think it has enough power for daily driving, or will i be frustrated that it has no power. thanks in advance

Re: New here, have a few questions

hmmm.... .just to clear things up you know theres a GT-S right? because i don't know why you would purchase an SR5 and then do the swap, its time+money consuming, but then i don't know you, so maybe you have the knowledge and resources for such a swap, so if the SR5 is in really great shape (since most GT-S are rust buckets) then it would be a nice shell for a GT-S conversion

the SR5 itself has around 80hp...so i don't know if thats enough for you, my dad drives the AE92 SR5 (102hp) and he says on highways it lacks power for awhile...

i don't know the market where you are, but i think the price is a little too high for a SR5, try to find a GT-S instead

Anyway, welcome!!

haha one more thing....i think you'll still be frustrated in power when you get a GT-S... they are faster than SR5s, but i wouldn't say they're that fast themselves, looking at today's standards

but looking at this compared to many others, its in great condition. meaning i wouldnt have to put all the money i have into fixing it right away. so if i get one in good condition i wouldnt have to worry about it breakin down, cuz i dont know all that much about mechanics so id have to spend more money fixing it. you see waht i mean?

if budget and mechanics for you is a problem then i guess the SR5's condition shouldn't be too much of a problem....for awhile...

these cars (GT-S, SR5, whatever) might be cheap at the first place but they EAT money in order for you to keep them alive, yes they are the durable corollas, but they are corollas that have been through 16 years of abuse, and because some ppl realize their corolla is very reliable and durable, they tend to "slack" off in proper maintainence, which only cause more bigger and costly problems

if your SR5 is in such good conditions as you say, and you did a search around you for other SR5/GT-S but couldn't find any, then go for it

1) it'll get you around town for a while yes. but you'll feel it seriously lack power

2) 1500 bucks USD is just about 800 too many benjamins very BAD price.

ask aaron how bad it was to pay a lot of cash for a SR5
