i think one hav a longer stroke or sumthing

4A-FE :
-92-95 make 115hp @6000rpm and 96-97 105-hp @5600rpm(i'm guessing emisson control and OBDI into OBDII caused the 10hp difference
-1.6-liter
-I-4 DOHC
-bore: 81.0 stroke: 77.0
-comp ratio: 9.5:1

7A-FE :
-92-99 models make 115hp @ 5400rpm
-1.8-liter
-I-4 DOHC
-bore: 81.0 stroke: 85.5
-comp ratio: 9.5:1

according to Toysport...

^^ that's it. The 7A is a stroked 4A, therefore you gain 200cc in displacement and more low end tourque is produced from the 7A.

Actually, in the US, it was the 7A that started out in 1993 rated at 115 hp, then downrated to 105 in 1995, until the 1998 model year when the ZZE model debuted. The 7A had its torque peak down at 2800 rpm, making it a bit more driver-friendly around town than the 4A.The 4A-FE in the US was rated at 102 hp, I believe. Still a world and a half better than my 70-hp 4A-LC in my '85 Nova...
