windshield washer system

hello, i have a 2000 corolla ce. on the wiper lever it has intermitant, low and high. there is no knob on this model to control itermitant speed. i wanted to let you know which type of system i have to better troulbe shoot this. when i pull the wiper lever towards me the washer fluid starts to spray but the wipers do not move. intemitant, low and high speed work as normal. i was wondering if i should have to turn the wipers on after spaying or not. maybe this is normal but i wanted to check. the owners manual is very vague and states that if the car has adjustable itermitant speed it will cycle a couple of times after you activate the washer fluid. i hope someone with the same model as i can help me out as i am trying to sort everthing out before giving to my sister. by the way i just bought this car, my wifes 1994 tercel will cycle several times when you push the washer buton. thanks in advave for any help in this matter.

theyre supposed to wipe 3-4 times when you spray the windshield but I wouldnt worry about fixing it. all you have to do is turn the wipers on then spray the windsheild then turn them off. since the wipers work I wouldnt worry about fixing that function.

its the switch. see if you can get one at a salvage yard, it'd cost alot less.
