No fan only option on Air Con

Gas prices are always hiking. The problem with my aircon is that I dont seem to have the fan-only option. It always gets cold whenever I crank on the fan switch. Before if I dont crank the thermostat switch, it doesn't gets cold now even the thermostat switch is off and the fan is on it gets very cold. How do I resolve this?

wouldn't the "fan only" option be just turnning off your a/c....as in the switch?

I'm not sure about yours, but some cars turn the AC on if the vent select is on defrost. Try another position to see if it cuts out.

most newer cars turn the a/c on automatically when the defroster is selected, however i dont think they had that in the 90's, and newer cars now let u turn it off so u dont freeze to death (although i do understand the purpose of having the a/c on).

but its worth a shot to try some other mode.

Can you get a pic of the controls and the engine? I can't think of any toyota I've ever seen that had a/c and no button.

If its the same as my car.. you have an actual AC button that you push to turn the AC on and off.

Philippine model perhaps?
Those only come with a temp and fan switch, there is a way to put an AC button on, but you need to add a relay and its gonna be ghetto.
I did it on mine, because I brought my car to scandinavia and it gets cold and I needed to install a heater....

...if I was correct about the country, I wouldnt worry, gas prices are still cheap over there.
