difference between Toyota oil filters

Can anyone tell me the difference between Toyota oil filter pn# 90915-YZZA2 and pn# 90915-YZZF2. The only thing I can find on the net is that the F2 is used on the Scion line. Any ideas?

I beleive one is a japaneese filter and the other is an american filter. The japaneese one is a little bit taller but both will work the same because the threads, and seal and holes are all the same on it.

When I checked with Toyota last, the shorter filter of the two originals was replaced with an even smaller filter.

Hmmm. That's interesting. My 05 has 21,000 miles on it now. I've always been a been disturbed by the amount of topend noise on initial cranking. Howerver, after the oil change today, it's not doing it anymore so I checked my receipt. They changed to the F2 filter. Obviously something is different. Since the filter is mounted vertically, I couldn't understand why the problem would exist. Thanks.

filter difference

There is little, if any difference in the size of the yzza2 vs the yzzf2 (the a2 box is slightly larger). The a2 is made in the US, the f2 in Thailand. The manufacturer of the a2 is not stated; the f2 is made by Denso and is so marked on the filter.
