I cannot wait

Sorry, but I just cannot wait for my 2006 Corolla S to arrive - due here in a week or so

This is what it will look like (if the sig pic actually works) - this is a test

So now we'll have TWO silver Toyotas in the garage (other one is an '04 Sienna LE) - will look like a Toyota showroom LOL

P.S. Anyone know of a better way to touch up nicks caused by rocks hitting the hood? I have the factory paint, and I can't seem to get it so it isn't noticeable - maybe that's just the way it's gonna be, short of repainting the car

The sig pic is too big... maximum size is 150x500 pixels and < 50kb.

For chips in paint, use the touch up, but shake it REALLY well, so the color matches. Also do not get a lot of paint on the brush, and touch up the chip in one short quick stroke. Later after it dries you can use a bit of polish to blend it in, but don't overdo it.

And by the way, welcome to TN and congrats on the new buy!!!

Thanks

Thanks for the welcome - and the advice on the paint - I did notice that it looked kind of dark and the more I shook it up it mixed up better.

I shrunk the pic a little bit - hopefully this is better

I have a silver rolla also and its almost impossible to make some chip repairs look perfect on that color JMHO(outside of professionals)...UK-102 has good advise on not getting too much paint on the brush and then polish to blend in. I think its more noticable because the touch up paint doesn't have the clearcoat on it, I tried a touch up clear coat also and it made it worse....Radd Guy

78, I replied to your post on how much I paid for it, but then went back in and saw you deleted your post, so I deleted mine.

I paid something like $300 over invoice...but that is because of the following: I signed on the dotted line for an '05 at 2% over invoice (we're a repeat customer from last year so he gave me a "deal" )...then they found out that they didn't have any more '05's in that color so they're getting me an '06 in my color at that price.

But I saw the detailed cost of everything when they sent me the shipment details and there are all the "hidden costs" listed on it (Dealer Holdback, Wholesale Financial Reserve, TDA, Gasoline)...so who the hell knows whether I got a deal or not LOL. As long as you're happy with what you got for a price, then so be it. I was happy and they were happy too.

I know I wasn't thrilled with the trade-in price they gave me for my crappy GM car so you have to factor that in as well. The $900 over invoice you paid for an brand new '06 not even made yet is a great deal...check out Edmunds.com and they have a "True Market Value" which is what people have paid for their cars and you're right about there.

Thanks Raddman

Yeah I think it is one of the first ones out (supposed to be for a dealer sample but they gave it up for me - yayyyyy )...If it were an '05, I would be worried about being one of the first cars off the line after several changes were made to the car, but this '06 model is just a "freshening" up (hopefully fixing any bugs from the '05's) so I think I'm good to go!
