Shop around you may be able to pickup a used turbo setup for that. Nothing wakes up an engine better than positive pressure on the intake.

I could pick up a Toyota CT26 for about 200bucks.... Then fab an exhaust manifold etc. But a homemade turbokit could be made for about that price.

hey flashmn,
how difficult would it be to fab an exhaust manifold? is that something that a normal person could do if told how? thanks for the input.

You can make a log type easily and inexpensive. As popular as boosted 4a's are you should find one on ebay.

Well... a turbo mani for the FE would be hard to find.
In fact, I dont know if it would even be possible to find one.
You could always make one, but that can be hard.
You coudl try getting a turbo mani for the GE ...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/COROL...spagenameZWDVW

... and making an adapter plate for your FE head.

Easier to make a header from complete scratch than start to modify a 4A-GE header.
You need a flange for the head and turbo, I've made few myself with a bench drill, but I'll be having access to some cool machinery at school, gotta love being a motorsports tech . Welder and some pipe, Then weld them up and thats about it.

Here's an example of a log type. Search the internet and you'll find these kits.

Very impressive for only $600 spent. Look at it this way, you came looking for a power increase, that's exactly what this is. If you could afford all out power we'd start with an engine swap. I can't afford all out power either, but I still started with an engine swap because of the power thirst I'll have.
