02 Corolla engine options?

my 1zz-fe recently started knocking and im bout to replace the engine...what options do i have that aernt that expensive but deliver good performance?? 3sge? 4age? wut cars do they come out of?? srry im kind of a toyota engine no0b but im also trying to find a 2zz-ge with an auto tranny(my parentz wont let me do a tranny swap) blah its ok! ne help would be appreciated thnx!

simple... 1ZZFE if you're looking for a cheap and quick fix, and 2ZZGE if you're looking for more power and a more straight up swap. The others (4AGE, 3SGTE) could be done but you would have to build custom engine and transmission mounts, the 3SGTE would be nice but you're looking at serious cash.

haha a 3sgte i wish! but yeah im looking for a 2ZZGE with an auto tranny so if i can find that would it drop right in with the auto tranny???

just out of curiousity, how many miles do you have on it? I have 70k on mine with no problems. if it even needs repairing it would likely be cheaper to do that instead of replacing it wouldnt it?

its about 76000 miles on there and i went to many shops and they said the trear down and rebuild of the motor would cost just as much so im better off with a new motor
