Canada My clutch is baked

I need a new clutch for my '89 Corolla SR5 Wagon 5spd, but so for Toyota gave me a price of $574.00 CDN plus installation, and NAPA gave me a price of $330.00 CDN + tax & installation. I am sorry but this is bullshit. Where are all the deals at? Any advice on where I can get a clutch without having to sell a kidney?

That's what clutches go for.. I paid $211 for parts from Toyota (got a discount as my cousin knew someone that worked there at the time) and about $250 for install. Toyota quoted me $790 the cheapest at one dealership and $910 at another dealership. My mechanic and another mechanic quoted me about $450 plus tax parts (non OEM) and labour so that's actually pretty decent if you got that quote from a dealer.

Unless you can get the parts and do it yourself, you're gonna have to deal with it. I'd go and check with a recommended mechanic as I'm not sure if Napa is a trustable shop, it be like going to Canadian Tire for a clutch.. if they can't do oil changes properly, would you trust them with your clutch?
