hey...its jovers ride...its not turboed...just supercharged (4agze off of either an aw11 mr2 or jdm ae101 levin).

it still pulls nice though and it can pretty much pump sir's.

i think out of all the ae86 guys, jover has the most done to it.

Nick

provided you have the resources and the tools, its not all that complicated.

if you get a 4agze from a jdm levin, all the better (9:1 plus boost!!woo-hoo!). in any case, the biggest obstacles are the wiring (which really isn't an obstacle once you get the harness and ecu) and the re-positioning of the throttle body (which requires cutting and welding)

Nick

ps: if memory serves me well, i think i met you at a csi meet. I was with andrew and my brothers friends (pierre and primus) go to your shop alot.

Like Nick said, collecting the electricals is the hardest part. It's pretty tough to get the MAP 4AGZE harness unless you're buying a front Levin / rear MR2 clip - which is also hard to get here in Toronto. Easiest and simplest way to setup any version of the 4AGZE is to find a MR2 SC donor for the wiring harness, afm, distributor, ecu and relays. You can then purchase whatever version of the 4AGZE from an engine importer and proceed with the install. Jover and Yasin proven this method and I'm next!

Don't forget about intercooling and powersteering...

Hey Type-R Boy, yeah, that was me at kk the other week. Took my girlfriend to try kk, cause she never had it before...and took an opportunity to meet with some friends, and at the same time check out the CSi guys.

I didn't get there till 12:45ish, so I dunno if we came late or not.

Anyway, about the car...hopefully yes, it will be turbo instead of SC'd. Top end power and efficiency would be superior. But for now, for someone with a grass-roots budget, I'm happy where the car is at.

Most of the technical points have been discussed by the other guys above, so if there are any more questions, there's a whole wealth of knowledgable people in this tight knit group...

Unlike Derek tho, I'm pretty happy with no powersteering pump.... so I ddn't worry about getting custom accessory bracket made.

If you were gonna do an AE86 project, i'd start with suspension and tires first... as well as LSD. I find that stock powered cars are just as fun on the track, as that 4AGE loves to rev. Just don't expect to win stop light races. After sorting out the suspension and driving technique, only then would I add power.

For me, learning to be a better driver on the track is a little harder, cause the modifcations made have made the "learning curve" a little steeper for any number of given reasons. I would suggest for anyone to just learn with what they got. I've been bested by other cars of similar or lesser calibre with about half as much power.....so take that into consideration.

hope some of the newbies are reading this...stock is good.
