USA New owner, new to the scene

Hey im proud to say im an owner of a brand new 05 corolla type s. im wondering though what really would be good for the car? i want to mod my car but have the design more tasteful, and not ricing it by overdoing it. im happy with the looks of my car with the rear and front spoilor but i still have many questions.

Number one:
I love my car's gas milage, in fact i rely on it alot. would installing intake and headers really kill my gas milage?

number two:
if i do get headers i'd wanna get a new ecu because the check engine light pisses me off, anyone know how much those go for?

number three:
as stock i hate how high my car is, it's like i drive a frikkin mini van and i wanna lower it. i know lowering it will give me better handling but would it be worse in the snow?

if someone could get around to helping me out here, i'd love it. thanks in advance, and please help out a noob. remember, everyone was once a noob =P we gotta start somewhere right?

1) Intake and headers can actually improve your gas mileage, unless it makes you drive like an ass.

2) Why does the Check Engine light come on with headers? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought if the header has a threaded bung for the O2 sensor(s), there shouldn't be any problem.

3) You can always get a set of height-adjustable coilovers. Funny, but when you lower that car, it'll still be as high as a normal car lol.

ITS NOT A TYPE S! remember its a Toyota not a Honda or Mazda. it's just plain S

That's the only thing I don't like about the new Corollas, the SUV clearance on the suspension.. but nothing a set of springs wouldn't cure.. stay away from cheap coilover kits.

Don't void your warranty, check the contract details before you pull parts off; or have dealer install TRD parts and keep your coverage.
