I've ordered from Tire Rack before.
Never had a problem.
Tires are shipped to a local Tire Rack recommended installer.
Thanks for the congrats!
I will never buy from them again as they delivered warped tires twice and stuck me with them and the wasted money in shipping so I'll buy local from now on incase something goes wrong. that way I'll have someone to deal with in person instead of them being able to hide behind a computer and screw me. Im glad to hear you all havent been done wrong by them though.
The funny thing is.. by the time you get them out to a shop, get them installed, balanced and rotated... you've already spent the same amount as if you just bought them from the tire shop itself.. then for warranty purposes, you have to get the tire taken off then ship them out.. etc, etc, etc, not much convenient when you could've just bought them off the tire shop and get them serviced there. And no, I don't own or work at a tire shop, I just think people are so hung up on this whole online shopping craze when its not really that convenient at all.

Tire Rack saves you money.
I paid $77 per tire.
$308 + $31 shipping.
No sales tax.
Tire installer $80 for balance and install.
The tires are shipped right to my choice of a Tire Rack recommended local shop in my area.
I called around for the Goodyear Assurance TripleTreds i 195/65/15 and no one came close to Tire Rack's price with the install.
If Tire Rack wasn't much cheaper, they would be out of business.
I paid $160 CDN for a pair of Kumho ECSTA 711s 195/50-15H installed, balanced, out the door, taxes in, etc.. it depends where you go and what you're shopping for.

That's true.. but $40 US x 2 = $80 US (US being the main word here, I said CDN as in CANADIAN dollars) plus shipping to canada about $15 US per tire, lets say about $110 US shipped to Canada.
But wait.. I have to add 15% tax as a resident of ontario plus probably another $10 for customs, that's $131.80 + $19.77 in taxes plus $10 = $161.57
So even after getting raped by customs and paying taxes, I still saved $1.57.... oh wait.. I still haven't got them installed yet.. that's another $30-40 to get them installed.... so in the end, paying $155-160 CANADIAN and INSTALLED OUT THE DOOR TAXES IN doesn't hurt my a-hole as much now as it did buying them from Tirerack.com did it??
Thanks for the insight Joe B
BTW how much does tire rack install tires for?? oh yeah they don't! how are they going to honor their warranty... oh yeah! you have to take your tire off the rim (which will cost you another $10-15 US) ship back to them... then they ship you a new one by which point its already probably been about 2 weeks, then put it back on your tire, another $15.. and then go back to your happy life!

That's a lot of taxes!
The Tire Rack recommended installer in my area gets $20 per wheel with balance up to 16" rims.
Then price goes up according to rim size.
I have my OEM bBridgestone's sold for $70 which almost pays for my install.
I'm rolling the dice with the warranty issue with the odds heavily in my favor..
After 4 purchases with TR,I've never had a warranty issue on a tire.
If a tire should have a warranty issue and
I purchase one locally,I would be around what I would have paid for the set locally.
If more than one tire fails then I'm screwed. but what's the chances of that happening?
Tire Rack also offer a Road Hazard Program for my set for $36 more.
If one lives in the US,Tire Rack is the way to go IMO.
Like I said.. depends what you're buying and where you're shopping.. I believe my bill was $155 for the Kumhos installed and taxes in. let's say -$20 for taxes then -20-25 for install.. I'm still looking at $110-115 CDN which is still about $100 US or so.. when I bought my tires from Wheels Direct in Toronto, Tire Rack had the Kumho's 711 on my size for $50 US.. so yeah it seems they've gone down in price a lot, but that's a risk you run, buy something today and its cheaper already tomorrow.

absolutely correct...been there done that and its not fun which is why from now on Im buying local so I dont have to go thru all that delay expense and hassle if that happens to me again. just hope to God that tirerack doesnt send you a warped tire because if you send it back they will just as likely send you another warped tire and you'll then be "SOL". they will not accept another return and will get hostile and accuse you of lying even though it all happened due to their own negligence by not quality checking what they shipped out both times even though they will lie and pull the "CYA card" by saying they check their tires before shipping them which they absolutely do *not* do.
khumo shouldve never let those tires out of the factory and tirerack shouldve never sold them either but they both did because neither perform quality checks with their tires as they boast. maybe one in a million tires and they call that a good check which is nonsense. the worst of it all is that I hold myself responsible because I thought the savings from tirerack were worth the risk of buying from them too but it didnt turn out that way.

It would be quite a hassle if there was a tire warped or such.
If they would accuse me of lying then they would also acuse their recommended installer who would have done the install of lying.
I am buying Good Year tires.Good Year warranty.
I can go to a Good Year tire center to rectify any problem.
Like I've said,I've bought four sets of tires from Tire Rack without any problems.
Maybe Im due.

thats exactly what they did in my case and they didnt care about it one bit. they just wanted me out of their hair pronto. yah I would feel that every next transaction with tirerack would be one closer to getting screwed...like russian roulette you know its coming you just dont know when.
they did me ok several times before that to where I started feeling safe with them too but now I know different. maybe they wont screw you...maybe they will, but I just know Im not allowing them to take any more of my money after that.
