I have a problem finding the right speaker size for my wagon. The factory speakers in all four locations is 5 inch. I tried to put in a 5.25 Pioneer in the back, but they don't fit (holes don't line up and the speaker is a bit too big). So, my guess is I would have to put 4 inch replacements in all 4 locations, which I don't reallly want to do.
I'm going to put 2 - 4 inch speakers in the front, but does anybody know a way to put some larger speakers in the rear? Maybe 5.25 or 6.5s?
This is a problem for the wagon because theres a lot less room in the back then a sedan Corolla. I just can't cut bigger holes to fit a 6x9...etc
So maybe if someone knows about some adapters or tips..etc
Are you sure they're not 4inch?? if not they're most likely 5.25s. The only way you're gonna fit 6x9s in there is doing some custom cutting on the panels.
It's weird, I measured across the top of the factory speakers and they're 5 inches. So I assume 4 inch are the best fit. Most websites say either 4 or 5.25 inches.
I may tried to fit 5.25 in the back, but there's not much space...

According to Crutchfield, they are all 4" speakers. I already swapped out my front speakers and the set for the back should come today. I'm going to try and put them in tonight. If the 4" bolt right in the back, I'll post back and let you know.

And 6x9's sound like shit in any case
I'd personally just do the fronts really good, leave the stock speakers in the rear hatshelf. You dont normally sit with yout back to the source of music in concerts either, now do you?

Last night, I replaced the 4" speakers in the back of my wagon with new 4" speakers. They bolted right in, and because the connecting wires actually used the tabs instead of being soldered, I didn't even need to use the wiring adapters. Easier than the front, no problem. If you were creative, I suppose you could swap out to a larger speaker. But for me, it was easy to go this way. I've got a new CD player and new speakers in the front & rear. Granted, since they are all 4" speakers it's not a killer stereo, but it sounds pretty good and I'm happy with it.

Yes, but only because the wires from the car were soldered to the original speakers. I ordered from Crutchfield, and they provide the adapters. If you don't have them, you would just have to cut the wires off the speakers, and attach the appropriate female plug to the wires, or, solder to your new speakers.
