4AC Fuel problems?

i got my sr5 for 500$ not running. it starts and runs good, then dies. so my first thoght ignition ect. well i let the car run till it died and then i had a friend fire it over, while i checked spark. it shot some nicw spark. so im now to the fuel system. what could be wrong? Fuel pump? it has a mechanical fuel pump on the block. now i was told i could have a minor clog in the hard line and when it runs for so long the clogs gets stuck then frees it self. now my problem is that when it dies out, it wont even start no more, you have to wait! for at least till it cools off. now that was the reason i thought the igniton it wouldnt fire over becuase it wasnt getting the spark, but now i know it is! so were to start with the fuel system? what about my carb? could it need internal work? jet work? float bowls? any help!

throw a new fuel filter at it, and see what happens

i have the same engine in my corolla sedan, and when my car starts acting like that, i install a new fuel filter, and it is right as rain

well i just did a 95$ tune up, i got a cap, rotor, plugs, plug wires, plug wire sepretators, a fuel filter and air filter. and it runs really smooth now, and we drove it a bit, no problems. im still going to flush the fuel system, and change the oil. the cap and plugs and wires were all rusty and just HORRIBLE, the plugs were just black and it is amazing they even sparked. now if i do the fuel work, and i clean the carb and it still dies i know that it either needs a carb rebuild or some more electrical work, like a coil or something
