i dont know much about motors, but how many miles until a chain change if any change is necessary?

Well technically chains are not suposed to have to be replaced. However chains receive wear just like on anything else that moves and so eventually they need to be replaced. It isn't like a timing belt though that you should replace at a certain time. You can't really say it needs to be replaced at a certain time you just replace it when it needs to be replaced. I know on a lot of 22R's they would last 150K or more without needing replaced. It all depends on how it wears. On a 2005 I wouldn't relaly worry about it for a long long time because it isn't a preventative maintance item like belts are.
