Help Removing Front Seats - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

I was trying to remove my front seats when I ran into this bolt:

How in the hell do I remove this?! I checked under the car and I have the heatshield from the cat converter blocking the underside. Am I suppose to use some special tool or pry it off? Thanks!

PS: Ive removed front seats in GTSs before at junkyards, but this is the first time ive seen this before! And its in MY car

looks like a hole for an allen key.

Whats weird is that this bolt is round on the top. So I cant get anything to grip it. Ive tried to cold chisel the edge to make it move a bit, and nothing budged. Has anyone see anything like this before?! This is really pissing me off! There is also a bolt like this on the passenger seat, left front corner bolt.

It's either Hex or Torx. The correct bit should turn it right out.

so there's only 2 bolts like this?? sounds like someone previously removed them, lost the bolts and put whatever they could find in there just to hold them in place..

take them out and get yourself the right ones, probably from a junkyard from another Toyota (get a few until you find the one that fits).

I already have some replacement bolts from a junkyard in hand. I was just wondering if anyone knew what the hell these were, and if anyone had a way of removing them without cutting them out.

It looks like its safe to say thtat these bolts were not factory and need to be removed now. Thanks.
