93 toyota corolla rear speaker voltage

Hi,

Right side rear speaker in my 1993 toyota corolla is not functioning. Can any one tell me what should be the voltage across this speaker. I want to check if there is any problem with the wiring.

If any one of you guys had this problem in the past.. please tell me the solution.

thanks.

Because of the nature of the signal, it's going to be a varying voltage. Your best bet would be to try another speaker, or hooking the speaker up to another source.

Voltage across a speaker? What? It's not a headlight man. There is no specific voltage across a speaker.

#1. It's AC
#2. It depends on how loud you turn up the volume
#3. It will go much higher if amplified
#4. You shouldn't be using a multitester if you didn't know these basics

If either speaker is not sounding, then chances are you have a wiring problem. If you wanna bother with finding out where the wire is cut off.. go ahead, or you could just run a new wire and be done with it in less than half the time. If you still don't get signal, then chances are the deck is probably malfunctioning.. might as well just upgrade to a newer deck.
