AE92 carbon fiber hood for my sr5

Hey i dont know if you guys remember a post a while back that i made about puting a 4agze engine in my sr5...well if so than you will be happy to know that its well under way. The big problem is finding a carbon fiber hood for it. I looked at an ae86 hood and it looks like it should fit pretty well but i can only imagin the mods that i would have to do so to make it easier i thought i would come to the corolla kings, you guys. For those of you interested the old 91 sr5 does have a nice shine new used 1990 4age engine with only 20,000 miles on it but its not installed yea due to the extensive body work that I have had to and still am going through. I just tore out the back seat and interior replaced the seats with some grey/blue sparco torino 2s. I also got some dress up goodies like some crome and blue sparco petals, A Grant evolution gt steering wheel with the blue inserts, a shiny blue shift knob, and i got a buddy working on bending me up some diamond plate for my floor mold. after I am done with the body work I have an extreme dimentions bomer kit ready to go on it and a big magnaflo exhaust with a 6 inch outlet peeking its head out of the rear. For those of you with no imagination dont get your panties in a bunch I have pics on the way from beginning to finish you must have patience.
But yea i was getting off topic...could anyone offer a good suggestion for my hood problem and now that i just thought of it i need a nice rear bumper(unfortunately the bomer kit does not include a rear skirt) it would be greatly apreciated.
Thanks for your time,
Crim

As far as I know there is no cf hood available for a sr5 of that generation..I've looked lol. And an ae86 won't fit because ae86 don't have those thign marker lights udner their headlights..and ae92 hoods are shapped to accomdate the lights while ae86 hoods arn't..

i dont know what your asking ... if your worried about the intercooler getting in the way i would get a front mount setup and not change your hood at all... like tokyoracer said their isnt much out their for ae92 hoods... the guys on this forum tried getting a group buy together but not enough people got together to do it..

if your just looking for a lighter hood i think your SOL unless you have sumone fab you one up themselfs

only other option i could tell you would be to go with the trueno hood which has the scoop for the top mount

hope this helped you out

it's not that hard.... i had the 'stock' part of the hood made in less than a month (and it being my first fiberglass project it turned out pretty decent)

Its not an intercooler problem since im getting a front mount sti intercooler which should fit under the bomer front skirt. i was just wondering if you guys could help me locate one. i have a buddy that does carbon fiber work but its like $120 an hour but i guess thats the price i have to pay, i guess while im at it ill have to get some interior trim molded to match. im sure you guys will enjoy this project when its finished
thanks anyways,
crim
