from the ad on ebay:
Instant Increase to HP 10-15+
that must be a magical intake
but seriously, find a local performance shop with a good reputation (ask around....especially sites like this one) and have a pro install it. I'm kinda handy, but I don't mess with stuff under the hood like that unless I know EXACTLY what I'm doing. I'll change my own oil, rotate my own tires, etc., but when it comes to installing parts like intakes, I pay people to do it.
installing an sri is fairly simple....you should have no problems doing it yourself. all you need is screwdrivers and wrenches(a ratchet set would be easier but wrenches will do)
edit: 10-15...lmao...try 2-3HP

when you are looking at the engine,(on a 97 i believe it's on the right) there is a black box with 4 clips around the outside of the box. It's roughly 6"X8" on the top. I had a 97 prism and i'm pretty sure they're the same engine. There is a hose (3.5" i think) connected to the box and the engine, it should be attach with clamps, loosen the clamps and slide each end of the hose out to remove it. undo the clips on the box, take out the air filter(it just comes out) and under the paper filter there are some bolts.
Pretty much what you are doing is removing the stock hose and stock filter/box and replacing them with the one you just got.
It would be easier to tell you how to do a 97 if you had a pic of the engine bay

I wouldnt pay for installation... then again, if a customer wants me to install one, I'll be happy to take his dollars for a 5min job and charge him for the hour.
hey dude its easy to install that short ram, all u have to do is clamp it on, and connect the sensors, but i would rather go with something else instead of an ebay ram, my cuzin bought one from there, and all it does it makes noise lol dont really do much, but if i was you i would rather go with a cold air intake, that one goes all the way to the bottom of ur car, so it wont get the hot air from your engine, it will get the cool air from outside so do w.e u think would be better
LOL yeah.. I was gonna say.. pic 2 is the only one you needed to show.
All it take is a couple of screws, open the filter box like you would to replace a new drop in filter, take the filter out and there should be a couple of bolts on the bottom part of the airbox. There should be a main screw on the hose attached to the motor which will losen up the hose, take it off and the intake hose should also come off along with the rest of the airbox.
I'm just hoping you get the right short ram intake, because some of the one-size-fits-all intakes don't have all the holes for the sensors, so you might end up drilling a hole, or blocking another one.
Sometimes I wish people lived nearby me so I could help them out.. or get them to help me out if they know something I don't.
well ya know what you have to do; take the stock setup off and put the aftermarket one on...BY ANY MEANS NESSESSARY!! All they do is suck up water anyways
