1999 Corolla - Interference Engine OR Non-interference engine - Timing Belt

Hi,

I'm wondering if damage will occur to my 1999 corolla's engine if the timing belt ever snap?

Is it an non-interference engine?

Well you don't have a timing belt so you shouldn't be worried about it snapping. Also no it is not an interference engine but chances of your timing chain snapping is very unlikely.

nicely put.. since 98 when the 1ZZFE came out, Corollas have been chain driven instead of belt driven.
