Is there such a thing as a daytime running light relay??

I went to get my car repaired they told me that my highbeams where not working. Because of the day-time running light relpay was bad, is there such a thing and where can I get this to replace it myself since they want 300 bucks.. Thanks Jonathan Jsess351@yahoo.com

do a little homework because I had a similar problem with the MKI MR2 and it was the relay all right....it had lost it's ground because of a bad trace in the relay circuit board, all I had to do was jump a ground to it and I was good to go. Most headlight problems can be traced to a bad ground. You have failed to mention the particular model of car. Get a wiring diagram, follow it looking for ground points, then jump the ground wire over to those particular locations watching when the lights turn on. Surely you can find a used relay if req'd. Best advice is find a pic-a-part wrecker, go in and look around and find one....just be advised that many boneyards are asking big bucks for there stuff. I would never advise somebody to pocket anything from the wrecker's but...what I do is find another part that I want that is sure to be fairly cheap, and somehow the expensive small bit seems to find a way into my pocket??? The other thing about many wrecker's is they won't refund electrical parts....good luck

the relay is probably mounted above your glovebox and in my case required taking the box out as well as two side panels to get the box out all just to get to the relay. it wasnt fun being cramped in the floorboard with cramped arm space working with the relay so if youre not a car guy then I'd just pay the $300 to save the hassle and body pain or leave it alone and pay nothing and just drive with your driving lights.

Take the seat out and work on the car.

my neck and arms still wouldve been cramped so I still wouldve had to gripe and whine about it.
