Shake, Rattle when I roll

Hi folks,

My wife's 1999 Corolla rattles when I go over the SLIGHTEST sharp bump. Sounds like it's coming from the front to mid section almost under my feet. I replaced the struts last weekend hoping it was them just shot. Still rattles.

Some smooth, sweeping dips and stuff the car is great, but like going over more sharp or blunt bumps like freeway reflectors in between lanes, or little potholes and stuff make it rattle like nuts.

Any ideas??

Motor mounts maybe? If it's an automatic a good mechanic should be happy to check that for free...it's characterized by the engine moving more than it should when moved from park to drive or reverse, but it's hard for most people to tell what's more than normal.

Thanks bro. I was thinking that,, and HOPING it wasn't. Makes sense though because if I tap the gas pedal real quick and abruptly it makes a bang sound, like the motor or tranny is loose.

ANY idea how mych the work would be to replace these? I think that's a bit out of my realm since I don't have the set up to be able to lift the motor and also get to the mounts,,,,,,tight spaces in there and I'm way too used to working on my Jeep.
