Help decipher Timing Belt cover writing....(take a look).........
So it looks like the timing belt cover says 92,377 which (since this has always been a U.S.A. car) is in miles. But, I'd be open to hearing possibilities if somebody really thinks it's km??
Also............anybody know what the stuff above it is??? The last column on the right is obviously "16" and the number in the middle column is "6" but what the heck is the writing in the first column??? (Looks like 111L maybe?? Or 1/12?? Or 1/16??.....I have no idea what they wrote there.)
Anyway, I don't know what the #'s above the mileage even mean so any help would be greatly appreciated!! TIA!!
it looks like 92,377 of whatever your spedometer is in. (Because to get the mileage when they wrote on that sticker, they obviously looked at your odometer)
um.... i would assume the engine isn't the original engine (check by checking vins).... US motors don't come with japanese writing all over it..... i would assume it's in KM

I'm pretty sure it's a 4AFE. It runs realy well. I can't say it's got enough balls to get out of its own shadow, but I only wanted it to park my 13mpg F150, so it's accomplished that.
I have no idea what the story is behind the car, but it's so stripped down that I was able to tell by test driving and looking around the engine compartment that it'd probably be useable for at least another couple years & that was certainly worth $1,800 to me.
I'm still not sure it ain't a 'salvage' car. Still not sure it's the original motor.............(though "deekay's" comments are leading me to believe it probably is)..............if it was in an accident the body work is certainly good enough that I see any traces not corrected for.
As I've said before, the passenger airbag cover is either really faded, or came from a tan interior, so that may have gone off, but a nice little dash cover'd sure fix that!.......
My ultimate goal is to see if I can actually put about 300,000 miles on it..........and I think it's do-able!!
Buurin is correct, That sticker comes with the timing belt when you buy it from toyota, That means the belt was replace at a dealer at 92377 miles.
the factory recommends t-belts on 97+newer cars to be done at 90000 miles
That also means that whomever owned the car before you, maintained it through the dealer, so the car was probably well taken care of.
The tech is not going to write that up in kilos,, it Miles,, trust me
I have to agree with deekay about most of this, the only question I have is why would it all be in Japanese if it was serviced by a dealer and it came from SoCal. It has been a while since I worked at the dealer here in Nashville and I was by no means a Master Tech. But I do not ever remember seeing one of those stickers in Japanese.
It would be nice to know how many miles the car has on it now also.

PLEASE DO NOT GET RID OF THE OLD TN AS WE KNOW IT.
Doh!! Sorry, for some reason I thought I *had* put that down.
Car's got 129,000 on it right now & runs great......(obviously short stroke & small bore make for a whole lot more harmony than a 454 big block.......LOL).
(gets up & walks out to the garage to check sticker on the Camry compared to the Prizm)
Whoaa!! I just love John Elway's Crown Toyota. Even since John Elway's bought it, nothing's changed...........NO FRIGGIN' STICKER.
Now, I've gotta say that I've spent at least a couple thousand there and there's ALWAYS been something wrong. Instruct to put in Red Coolant, they put in Green. Go in for one thing, get billed for another. Get billed for fuel filter twice on the same page. Get charged for labor charge on timing belt......twice......had to have all of these things either changed or credited. Unbelievable. Now there's no friggin' sticker on the TB cover.
Oh well.......wish I could tell you guys if my Prizm's Jap writing sticker looked anything like the one on my Camry, but...........ooops........Elway/Crown Toyota strikes again!!!
I checked the sticker on our '96 LS400, '97 Avalon, and '00 PreRunner (my '93 Corolla didn't get the sticker put on.... my fault for choosing a bad mechanic that time). All of them are in English and miles. I only saw the LS400's timing belt before it went in, and it clearly said Made in Japan (and came in the obligatory Toyota Genuine Parts box).
