Unhappy Rear motor mount

Trying to change the clutch on my 95 Prism. Made it to the part to remove the rear motor mount and am having trouble. We can't get the bolts out of their holes. Is there something that we am missing? Should we be trying to remove the bolts that connect the mount to the transmission? HELP!!!!!!

I haven't done the transmission removal but I can quote you what the the 1996 Prizm manual says about mounts. Among the 40 steps given to remove the manual transmission we have:

Remove:
10. Left transaxle mount cove and brace
11. Mount through bolt
...
22. Front mount bolt shield
23. Two front mount bolts
24. Three rear mount nuts

28.... and lower main crossmember

29. Front mount through bolt and mount
30. From mount bracket from transaxle
..
32. Two lower transaxle braket-to-mount
33. Lower vehicle
34. Remaining transaxle mount-to-bracket bolt
35. Lower transaxle ...
36. Transaxle mount

Don't have a digital camera. It looks like the power steering is in the way. Everything says to remove the three bolts on the motor mount and remove the cross member. Nothing else! There has to be a trick. I don't want to give up but am about at that point were I am going to have to and live another week with a slipping clutch.

Thanks tashirosgt! That link was what I needed to see. The Haynes manual doesn't list removing the lower suspension arm like your link does in step 20. You would think that that would be an important step. I sure didn't know that Autozone had repair manuals online. It looks like it is a better manual than Haynes. Do they sell that manual in the store? Is there a better manual that anyone would suggest?

The Toyota Service manual for your car is the best manual. The GM manual for the 95 Prizm would probably be a good manual too, but it is not as well illustrated as the Toyota manual. If you keep looking, these manuals come up on abebooks.com (search for author = Toyota) and on ebay.com.

I don't know if autozone has a printed version of their manuals. And I don't know if Toyota has an electronic version of theirs. It would be nice to have a pdf file of it.
