Seiwoong,

This is a review of the 06 Corolla, Canadian-based, but still highlights things like hp and any trim differences.

Not exactly the same, according to the article:

The engine's power numbers are a little lower for 2006 – 126 hp at 6000 rpm and 122 lb-ft of torque at 4,200 rpm, down from 130 hp and 125 lb-ft – but there's still lots of meaty torque right in the middle of the rev range, which makes for excellent driveability around town

I dont know the group (i think its sae ) what ever group does the hp ratings changed something in how they rate the cars.

A whole bunch of cars in different brands got their numbers reduced.

yeah the SAE changed the standard of horsepower measurement. 05 and 06 engines put out the same amount of power, (and practically they are the same) just that they are rated differently.

majortom is right. SAE put restrictions on the type of fuel and conditions the car is rated, so that the ratings are more standard among many different cars. The 05 and 06 Corollas are EXACTLY the same, but it is the 4th and final year of the 9th gen, so I'm excited to see what the 10th gen 2007 Corolla is going to be about.

I just feel bad that candiandriver.com didn't get their facts straight before putting such a thing on the review. People will probably go look for an 05 instead of an 06 after reading about a power loss.
