Just replace your good sealed unit with one that leaks like mine, then you can be adding new fluid every so often so that your fluid always looks clear!!

sounds like what I used to have to do with my 85 sr5. I had to refill it with thick atf fluid every 3-5 days. lmbo

the manual doesnt say when to change steering fluid as it doesnt with brake fluid either which Ive found is best to change every 2yrs since its performance sharply degrades over time.

Well, fortunately mine leaks pretty slowly.....(add a little about once a month), but I'd be lyin' if I said it ain't an easier go 'round than what I'll be tryin' to do w/ my Camry if/when I decide to change that fluid out.

At least on brakes, you know what you're up against. If you just keep bleedin' brakes (starting from furthest wheel away) and keep refillin' fluid, etc. etc. for each wheel, then eventually you'll have pretty clean fluid.........

(Wouldn't mind seein' how they do it at the dealer)

..........and that pretty much works for me. When I got the Prizm the brake fluid was pretty dark, so I had my 8 year old get in the driver's seat & she pumps the brakes & holds, while I bleed each wheel cylinder & keep goin' round the car. After about a half hour or so we were done & voila..........just saved $80 over doin' it at the dealer!!!......(excuse me.....STEALER!)

P.S. Maybe a small turkey baster to suck fluid out & then put some fresh in & do that once a month for about 6 months & you should have clean PS fluid by then, eh?
