What to do with 4EFE ('96 european corolla)

my ride is a Corolla xli LB, (4EFE engine) and unfortunatly he's asking for an "air refresh". i'd like to know how do i increase power (instal a turbo or other sollution...) and where can i get the parts and documentation...

Well, the easiest thing to do would be to get a 5E-FE. That should bolt right in, and give you almost 200cc extra displacement. Theoretically, any of the A series engines should also bolt in.

Another route would be to get the head and manifolds + other piping from the 4E-FTE from a turbo Starlet and put it on the 5E-FE bottom end, thus giving you a 1.5L turbo.
