AE92 DIY: AE92 Right-Front Speaker

Here she is, now anybody will be able to upgrade 1/4 of their stock stereo system! I will be doing left speaker and gauge cluster in due time, so everyone that may be needing these, hold tight.

The Glovebox/Speaker

Pry off the speaker grill.

Grill Removed

Remove the two screws on the bottom-right of the assembly.

Remove the two screws on the bottom-left of the assembly.

Open the glovebox and remove all of these screws:

Pry off the left screw cover & remove it.

Pry off the right screw cover & remove it.

Remove the screw behind the speaker grill.

Unscrew the glovebox.

Remove the assembly

The glovebox removed.

Disconnect the speaker wire. (Kappas hehe...)

Remove the nuts from the back of the speaker box.

Remove the speaker box.

Unscrew & Remove the speaker from the box.

And there you have it, hope this helps! (and maybe this and my other DIY should be sticky-ed?)

Same as mine, mine is part of the dash, so I have to remove the glove box and the kickpanel on the bottom so that the top panel drops down and then you get access to the speaker which is in an enclosure that you have to take out. Different on an SR5 or it could just be some models.

How did you install the 6X9's in the back? I was planning on doing that. Can we get a write up?

I believe it involves some cutting.. I wouldn't mind a write up either though.

Yeah the 6x9s were my own special blend of ebay speakers, some hours working food service and a local audio shop

Nice write-up, I just did it. Got some 25 dollar Lightning audio speakers from walmart. Don't sound to bad actually. How about a write-up on the other side? I'm not an idiot, I could prolly figure it out. It's just nice having someone else do the guess work for you.
