Canada 05 gas pedal buzz

Well I guess it's time to post something new that's wrong with 05's. My gas pedal has been making a buzzing sound for the last 5 months under light acceleration. Kinda like a buzz like when you hear something shorting. Not a very inspiring sound since it's a throttle by wire system. And I've taken it in once to the dealer, and as usual they said there was nothing wrong. Needless to say I wasn't to happy with the service...again! Time passes and it's gotten worse to the point where everytime I stepped down on the pedal it would beep. Upon another visitation to the dealship I was told that some customers are more lenient to rattles and sounds. I was quite upset at this point and well you can figure out the rest. Large arguement etc! And now after being contacted by the dealer for another fix, see starting problem thread, I was asked if I had any other problems and I mentioned the pedal problem. And this time they admitted to it being a common issue now. So now I am waiting for a new pedal assembly! Are there more of us out there with this once hidden, and now public problem? Do I dare to say that, Toyota has really dropped the ball on the 05's???

Ummmm, ....nope no similar problems here. The only problem we've had with our '05 S was when we first brought it home, the power lock buttons did not open the rear driver side door lock. Drove it to the dealer the next day , unanounced/unscheduled, and was out of there in 10 minutes. Whatever it was, it was a quick fix. Our car starts fine (am wondering if our driving habits don't have the engine temp in the "range" of when the problem occurs..... so far so good, here.....who knows ??? As far as gas pedal buzz, haven't noticed anything, but will definitely keep an ear out for it - thanks for the heads-up

No...there's no buzz from my pedal.

First off...what version of Corolla are you talking about? What RPM? Does it buzz when your foot is on the pedal? Lots of diagnosis questions need to be asked here.

XRS has a buzz that "sounds" like it's under the drivers pedal at around 5000rpm related to the heater coil. It's a odd sound...but perfectly normal.

In any event, I don't think that a noise from the pedal is really considered "dropping the ball". Dropping the ball is called the supposedly European designed "Ford Focus".

It also sounds like your issue is with the dealership. There's at least 3 or 4 in Mississauga.

No problem like what you're having. Gas pedal and starter work as advertised on my '05 LE.

However, i must say that the Corolla has a little more buzzing and rattles than what i would expect from one of Toyota's most reliable/durable car. Otherwise, it runs smoothly...powertrain is perfectly matched for a small car...hoping that it will run forever.

Never had any issue like that on my XRS after over a year of driving it. However, the XRS throttle system is mechanical cable driven while the throttle system on other 3 trims in the Rolla line up are computer controlled and driven by wire.

I have a god damn rattle somewhere in the drivers side B-Pillar or up in the roof. Can't pin point it, but it's the only damn rattle in my car. DRIVING ME NUTS.

I don't get the pedal problem. Looks like you need to call up another dealership.
