Ignition Key Programming
Help,
I am a new Toyota Corolla owner...
I've read 2005 is the first year that Toyota used the key immobilizer.
I've purchased a new key and remote. The key is cut to fit, but nowhere can I find a procedure to program the key. I have followed a multitude of similar instructions that do not work as I believe '05 is different.
The remote was purchased on eBay and came with instructions that worked perfectly...

Please help - paying Toyota $45.00 to program, plus time off work seems ridiculous!!!

Yes 2005 was the first year for immobilizer. That said, I believe that only a Toyota Dealer can assist you with your key programming (for good reason I might add). It's a security issue. Perhaps you can visit the dealer on a Saturday?
