AE92 Fuse problem???

I seem to be having a problem with a fuse on my 91 corolla. The fuse for the gas and temperature gauges keeps on burning out. It burns out and I replace it. I turn on my car and it works, but when I remove the parking brake and shift it into "D" it burns out. It has been doing this very frequently. What could be causing this problem??

Finding the cause first, then trial and error seeing which wire gets hotter than the others. Not easy thats for sure.

The easiest way is to disconnect the battery and do a continuity check at the fuse box. The line that it is shorting with will probably have a higher rated fuse than the one that keeps blowing. Once you find the guilty system, it shouldn't be to hard to find the short, unless it is behind the dash.

Did you do some work on the car before it started blowing fuses? Or did it just do that for no reason?
