I've lost first, Manual swap?

Is it possible? I prefer manual... I bet it would be better to find a local parts car due to the sheer number of small parts, but how extensive is it? Just pedals, cables and hydraulic lines right?

Its not to hard to do if your handy with a spanner, its tracking down all the parts which can be hard/expensive.

You will need

gearbox with bellhousing (duh)
Flywheel (with correct bolts, Flexplate ones are often too short)
Clutch
Clutch lines and cylinders
pedals

and you'll need to do a little wiring to fool you computer ( ie auto's only start in park)

finding a donnor car is often easiest and may work out cheaper

Does anyone know if a Corolla will work? I'm not concerned about the interior panels, as long as they are close enough for me to fabricate.

I found an '89 Corolla, But no Manual Geo's of any year.

Dameorder, yes, the parts from a Corolla will work. Also remember that you will want the brake pedal from a 5-speed (or cut yours down), shifter assembly and cables, master and slave cylinder, and the driver's side mount which is different on the 5-speeds.

BLUEMEANIE, there are two wiring issues to worry about. The first is the neutral start switch, basically that needs to be ran over to the clutch start switch which replaces it on the 5-speed, and also the ECU may get upset when it doesn't get a signal from the auto tranny and throw a CEL. In that case some resistors will need to be wired in, or a 5-speed ECU sourced.
