Knocking noise when turning

Hello, im new to the forum, but i have a problem. My 93 Corolla makes a knocking noise when i take a right turn, or when the car hesitates, "i have a standard" so when i slow down using the gears, and the car shutters back and forth.. it makes the knocking noise..

It started off when the car hesitated like going 20 in first than taking your foot off the gas.. then it started making it more when i turn right.

now i have to go on a trip on Saturday.. so.. any suggestions. .thanks a bunch

Check you CV joints ("half axles"). Now how to do this? You can inspect and see if the rubber "boots" are cracked. But they can go bad without this happening. If you have jackstands, pu the front of the car up on two jackstands, turn the steering wheel to the right and rotate the tire by hand. See if you hear noise from one of the CV joints. (This is not a perfect test either since your axles are drooping down a little, not in the same position they are in while driving.) While you are at it, check the tihat the tie rod ends are not loose.

i concur with punter.

do a search for cv join or axle

depending on how long your trip is, maybe you should have it checked out and fixed?>

umm..to check it your self, you can either turn the wheell and crank the car onto a jack or jack and wheel off.

you are looking for the boot to be torn and depending on how long you've been hearing the clicking, you may or may not have to replace the join
