Checkman Springs

Lafora, question about those Checkman springs and your suspension setup. It's a 3" drop right? Did you have to shortstroke shocks on there? What about the RCA's? Did you have to buy the adjustable ones from Battleversion?

Details please!!

DIY coilovers

meh .. I got coilovers on my Prelude ... GC's and Koni's, it's good and all but I don't know that I would want to do that to the 86.

So how is your ride now? Bouncy??

I measured more than -3" when I had my CMR springs installed with the short stroke TRD green struts in the front.

arent the springs you guys had (derek and cyril) different models? I think derek's are lower than cyrils..

the ride shouldnt' be bouncy at all if you have decent dampers, as cyril does..

note: coils are really only good on the ae86 if your into drift. they allow for a crazy drift setup for various terrains.

you should use short strokew when lowering the car that much and YOU NEED ncras or rcas when lowering.

The ride with the -3.5" CMR springs wasn't bad with the TRD's, the bump steer would've been crazy without the Battle Version adjustable NRCA's. My problem was the ground and tire clearance. The mudflaps were basically scraping the ground, I coundn't get jacks under the car to do motor / lsd oil changes, I ripped off my front plate a few times, plus the tires will rub heavily if you do not have low profile tires on the proper offset rims and roll your fenders. Don't get me wrong, the CMR's are good for the track but I do more driving on the road than at Shannonville. Goodbye CMR's, I sold my TRD short stoke set to Pat and I'm delivering them to Montreal this weekend. Anyone interested in a set of barely used (<250kms) Battle Version adjustable Negative Roll Centre Adjusters and CMR single rate springs?
