Question s/c or turbo

my last car was turbo, now i am addicted to everything about it... the fact of an upgrade on turbo kits, front mount, different blowoff valves and turbo's.... so .... i need you'r guy's/'gals help ... for my corolla xrs i found this trd supercharger wich i dont know how much hp it puts out at all...?? for about $2,900.00 .. and i found this web site (turbokits.com) they have a bolt on kit for just about any sports compact car made.. the costs is $2,400.00 wich is less than the trd supercharger and adds 56% hp and passes smog in 50 states..im still to add nos to my car from the intake manifold to add some power in a bottle ... wich would be the best way to go for speed turbo or s/c (the bolt on turbo kit is boosting 6psi with cat)

I would go s/c. Just because turbo lag is a bitch.

Both have their own advantages. Turbo would most likely need some internal mods.

I would not run a boost on a high compression motor. Also, your XRS already has as much HP as most boosted 4 cylinders do stock......with a few bolt on accessories you could be putting 200 HP to the ground. I found a kit to make your 1.8L a 2.0L, now that would be badass.

Again boosting a high compression motor is a bad idea. You'll have to rebuild your motor from the bottom up to handle the boost. Also you're gonna have some trouble with the LIFT, the computer will need some kind of piggy back system to work woth your stock computer.

Good luck if you do do it, it would be extremely fast if it ran.....

If you have a set hp goal in mind and don't plan on going over it, building a high compression turbocharged engine is a very good idea, but costly. You need a very stout bottom end but the advantages are tremendous. You don't need as large of a turbo, you don't need to run a high psi, and you get the same power, if not more, with damn near zero lag.
